Lanndyn & the fair

Look at how grown-up Lanndyn is!! She's 11, and I can't believe it. She is the sweetest girl, so thoughtful. We always have so much fun being with her.

We recently took her and her friends Samantha and Kaila to the fair for an afternoon.

Bumper cars!!

This was different - a safari tent at the fair. with random animals. Lanndyn and Samantha were excited because they needed a photo of a zebra for one of their classes.

This moment was particularly funny because it was right before we saw the monkey that exposed himself to us. As Lanndyn said, "I'm scarred for life!!!"

Friends in town

Last weekend was very busy. James had friends from Aiken in town to visit (Rob, Chad and Tucker) for the SEC championship game. Trey and Amy and their daughter Hannah Claire were also in Atlanta for Amy's graduation. Congrats Amy!!!

While the guys were all at the game (or somewhere watching it), Amy and Hannah Claire came over for Ladies Night.

We. had. so. much. FUN!

Hannah Claire brought over lots of fun toys that were new for Kate. She enjoyed playing with the Little People and her Pink Pig.

We all played Ring-around-the-Rosie - this has to be Kate's new favorite game. We did it at least 10 times.

They ate their crackers, and ran back and forth from the front door to the back door over and over again. It was so cute!!

We hope we get to hang out with Hannah Claire and Amy again soon!

I have too many photos to blog about and i'm going crazy.

Wow, I am soooo thirsty. Lot's of playing. Good thing my Kai-lan car got me to Mom's bar for some juice!

Thanksgiving 2010

Thanksgiving was great for seeing family and having a little time off of work. I forgot how long it had been since I had several days - I've been trying to rebuild my vacation and sick leave for almost 2 years since Kate was born! I'm looking forward to Christmas and New Year's - more holidays!!

James wasn't able to eat anything on Thanksgiving; he had a stomach bug! :( Kate and I went to my parents to visit. Lunch was amazing as always: chicken and dressing casserole, green beans, cream corn, rolls and cranberry sauce.

My mom had a spoon at the table for Kate, which she hasn't gotten the hang of using before. she usually gets frustrated, and we either feed her or we take it away so she can use her hands.

Thanksgiving was different - Dad helped her get food on her spoon, and she ate a ton of cream corn!!

Yummy!!

She finished before we even got started.. typical. She ran to the living room to get my old rocking chair. She brought it to the kitchen so she could rock while we ate. Of course she came back for chocolate cake - the little stinker nearly ate my entire slice! :)

Now Kate is doing really well with her spoon and fork. As I'm learning with everything kid related - you have to wait until they are ready, or it just won't work. I think she's eating baked beans here.

And this was spaghetti.

Penne pasta alfredo! She is good using a fork, too.

Lisa, Mel and Melissa also came to stay with us on the weekend. We watched a lot of football... some of us were happy with the outcome, and some were not. I will say... go dawgs!! :)

Halloween for Miss Kate

We sure enjoyed Halloween this year!

Kate had a party at school on Friday.

This was before we left - she liked putting stuff in her basket.

Camille was a ladybug, and Von was a tiger.

Emily is a cow and Nicholai is a tree (yeah right, there are some leaves on his back, sure).

Saturday we went to the Glenn Memorial Church pumpkin patch (at Emory).

Kate was getting a little cranky until this older gentlemen smiled at her, and she started smiling and waving at him. What a flirt!

Last weekend, we went to Bojangles, and Kate said hello to everyone in the joint, as well as said hello to everyone that came in. She's much more social these days!

Sunday we got our costume on again. Little Dorothy!

We are missing Toto the dog. She would not keep him in her basket.

BTW, pumpkins are gross. It's been a while since I carved a large one, and it was disgusting.

I think this is a man's job!!! hahha

We had fun playing on the porch before it was time to trick-or-treat.

Kate likes to point out eyes, mouth, teeth, ears, head and hair. She does it to herself, and then she'll do it to you. On Sunday, she found out that we also have eyelashes. I kept blinking, and she thought it was hilarious.

This lasted quite a while.

We walked around to our nearest neighbors for candy. This is Sid and Sally's house, and their little girl (can't remember her name). She gave Kate a piece of candy.

We went to a few other houses before heading home.

She knew what to do! I don't know how; we've only given her candy a couple of times? She also figured out that candy goes in the basket. When kids came by the house, we were holding Kate at the door while we gave out candy, and Kate took candy from the bowl and put it in her own basket - it was too funny.
