Golf Balls and Rocking Horses

A while back, I was able to get a few items from my parent's storage warehouse:
Part of my old kitchen set, and my old rocking horse - both made by my grandfather.

Here's the sink. There is also a matching oven/cook top. It's so cool! I believe he made it for me when I was 3 or 4 - 1980 or '81. It's in great condition! I can't decide if I should leave it the way it is or refresh with some new paint. Those are strawberries on there - because Strawberry Shortcake was my fave. It's a lot bigger than I remembered. I figured Kate could start playing with it right away, but it may be another year before she's tall enough.

And here's the rocking horse!! (excuse all the junk - it is in our garage here).
My mom said Kate should be the right age to play on it, so I brought it in this past weekend.

Here she is checking it out for the first time.

I put her on it, and voila! She was rocking.

She loved it!! She's asked me to put her on it again several times.

And we can't forget the most important thing going on over the weekend as far as TV watching goes... the Masters!!!

Golf tournament or Golf channel were on nearly 24/7. Kate had an abundance of golf balls to play with (I fear she is becoming obsessed).

And we had to wear our Masters clothes all weekend.

What's up?!

We had a few friends over to watch - Liz and Art above.
I made pimento cheese sandwiches (the real stuff!), and Art brought delicious chicken salad.

Tod and Kate playing with violets.
(still does not like grass-you can see her foot is intentionally held up)

I think James was happy with the outcome (who won? I don't even remember. Oh yeah, Mickleson). And now we are all sad that it is over, but luckily we can still play/teeth on our golf balls.

BTW - Kate is teething big time - 4 new teeth at the top are coming in all at once.
It makes it hard for Kate to sleep all night. :(

Outdoor fun

We recently traveled to Jackson to go to Dauset Trails. I love to go there - just a little outdoor spot with some wildlife and trails and stuff. I used to go all the time when I was little, and they were having a bluegrass band thing, so we decided to go.

Since Kate wouldn't wear her cool sunglasses, I put this cute little hat on her. She didn't mind wearing it. We are checking out some chickens.

cluck, cluck, cluck.
(this is that sling I've been telling some of you about. Lifesaver!)

Listening to bluegrass.
James found some boiled peanuts - he was happy despite the neck pain.

Look at that little foot. So cute!

Life IS good!!
there's good and bad, and I'm going to focus on the GOOD.

Here I am!! I took my own photo. :)

Look at the wise owl, he was giving us the eye. We have owls like
this in our backyard.

The owls were my favorite. I didn't take photos of anything else!

More hoot owls.

Later peeps, gotta roll.

Easter

Finally, here's some photos from Easter. Before I get to those, here's what's going on with us:
James had a cortisone shot today - turns out that he has a ruptured disc as well as bone spurs!! That explains the severe pain. Hopefully the shot will help.
Still no word on Kate and her blood, but hopefully we will learn more soon!

Eggs..

What's in these??

Peeps!!

She knew what to do.

The cat was interested, too..

Until Kate saw her, and then she ran like heck.

Then we had to put our pretty dress on.

And play with violets.

Not a fan of the grass yet. We'll get there.

Here's 1 year ago!! Look at that tiny baby.
(Look at my long hair... hmm, maybe i'll grow it back out)

Here we are now! Ooooooo...

Ahhh....
And don't forget to brush your teeth!!
(She didn't want to put her new toothbrush down, so we kept it in the photos).

Pony + Belly

Oh, HI!!! :)

How's it going?
Check this out:

I have a pony tail.

uhh.. and a belly.

'cause my mom likes messing with my hair, and she feeds me a lot.

I also have this table thing that I play with. all. the. time.
plus a hair brush (random).

That's pretty much what's up at the moment.

Pretty awesome. :)

Catch ya later!!
Love, Kate
