Birthday fun

Kate had a great birthday, and we enjoyed celebrating it (we've still got more celebrating to do with family, so it's still not over yet! I like extended birthdays).
:)

Kate started off the day with wanting to sit on her potty chair. She has had an interest for a while, but nothing has happened yet. On Feb. 13, Kate pee peed on her potty!! (she hasn't done it since, for all you moms getting angry! don't worry). Still, it was pretty exciting and I have great a great photo she will kill me for one day...HA!

My mom and dad came over to eat lunch, open presents and eat cake.
Kate loved her gifts! She got a Little People Farm, clothes, sunglasses, new crocs, books, and a slide.
She finally gets the present opening now. No need to explain!

When we sang happy birthday, Kate blew her candles out at the end!!! We were so surprised (and especially after we watched the video and saw how close she got to the flames - scary!! didn't realize it at the time). Hopefully I can post the video (but probably not because it is too long.. sorry!)

She loved eating her cake. I also made mini cupcakes for her class for Monday (the actual birthday!). Kate's class celebrated Valentine's Day with themed art and red snacks (strawberries, raspberries, red apples.. all things Kate refuses to eat). Then they sang to her and ate the cupcakes.

You'll be happy to know that I do not have any photos of the potty experience after cake (nor would I post them)... Kate ended up running around the downstairs naked except for her new shoes, and she got away from us long enough to pee and poop on our floor!!! How does this happen?? She got a big kick out of it. I was only laughing because my dad said, "looks like she just laid an egg."

She still wants to sit on the potty at times, but nothing has happened since.

That's all for now! Kate has had a stomach bug this week, and so far it looks like James and I didn't catch it. She's doing much better, but now we have new teeth coming in!!
