I know, I've been hearing that for a while. Sorry to be gone for so long!
I admitted before I had some guilty pleasures on TV. Idol, SYTYCD, Bachelorette.. the list goes on. I know it's just a waste of time. Also, we have been pretty busy (work has got to calm down!), and I just haven't felt like blogging. Back into the swing of things!! Here we go.
Where did spring go? And Summer is almost gone now.. I will warn you that this is a very random mix of photos and events.
I'm sure you want to know about the potty training business.. especially after our interest in it before. Well it has gone nowhere. I'm not too concerned. Daycare is going to be starting training in a couple of weeks, so we will try again then.
The potty is just another toy to Kate at this point (although I try to talk about it often). I found some of her little people in there!
A friend and I gave a baby shower to Jennifer! It was so fun. I LOVE to entertain. I anyone ever needs help, let me know!
We made these sweet onesies for Jennifer. Everyone who came to the shower could cut out shapes from fabric, and I ironed them on. It was a great idea from my friend Leigh.
And.. Jennifer had a boy!!
Easter came around and we took a few photos outside.
Wasn't the weather nice then??
And we were finally invited to the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt.. we have been shunned before since we didn't have a kid or because Kate was too young. We are now in the club!
And did Kate understand the game?
Oh yes she did! She was picking up eggs like a champ. She got a ton of them (once she caught on, she was very focused).
Almost all of our neighbors have kids. Kate is in the younger bunch, but she will have lots of buddies to play with.
Kate found a patch of sand in our yard (our gardner, James, left it for her), and she loved playing in it. I took this as a good sign since last year when we were at the beach, she really hated the sand. We also got a sandbox for her.
Every day we were there, I put her in a suit. The last day, i said forget it - she wasn't having anything to do with the water, so why be uncomfortable. Of course, she decided she LOVED the water! I have no photos of this because all 3 of us were in the water having a blast.
I will have some more photos of our 2nd beach trip soon! Must find that memory card...

Our friends Kathleen and Mike came over and brought there son Alec and daughter Aerin. Aerin is the same age as Kate, so they entertained each other a bit.
We have a new addition to our family... KC the cat. She is super sweet, and she has already adjusted.. er.. um.. Completely taken over the cat domain.
I mentioned a random sequence, right? :)
We did some strawberry picking in Jackson at Deb-Debs. These strawberries were to die for. Definitely worth the trip.
Kate didn't want to pick any, I think because I scolded her once for picking all the flowers off bushes at home.

We have been to the "junk toy park" in Decatur (where toys go to die) several times. There's a ton of stuff for little kids there, and there is some actual shade to hang out in. We get coffee at Dancing Goats and walk over.
Kate usually suckers one of us or both of us to pull her around the circle in this wagon!
The last couple of times I have taken her, she has monopolized the kitchen set that is there. I have explained to her that we have to share it with other kids, but when they come up to play, she starts wailing. Then we leave! :)

Kate is growing into a little girl! She is still a toddler I guess, but changing and growing rapidly. She says the funniest things to us! I write them all down in a journal.
This cracked me up. She lined up all her toys around Eve.
Who new Little Duck and Cookie Monsters were such pals.
These Little People, they go everywhere. As in we have to take them everywhere. we go downstairs, they go. We go outside, they go. We get in the car, they go. We go back upstairs, they go, too.
And we are finally brushing our teeth (this is what used to happen). James told her we didn't want to get any cavities. She now announces as soon as she gets out of the bath: I don't want any cavities!!! and lets us brush the teeth.
And as I was going through the photos, I thought: can't leave out Talladega. Our first trip!
James thought it would be funny to bungee cord our friend Tod inside.
And the contraption my Dad hooked us up with - it's a lazy Susan table..
We had great weather while we were there. We have ditched the Atlanta Labor Day race because it is toooo hot.
Look! Cars!
Ok, that's about it for the update. Hope you enjoyed, and I hope I do better keeping up with it!
